IFCBA Countries Featured in WCO Photo Contest

One of the highlights of the annual World Customs Organization (WCO) Council events is a photo contest, in which delegates vote for their favourite photos among those submitted by WCO members.  It is always interesting to see how many of these photos feature Customs dogs at work, and it is also interesting to see how Customs administrations portray themselves in the photos and their captions.  This year, many of the photos reflected themes relevant to Customs administrations’ responses to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The Council meeting, usually held in person at WCO Headquarters in Brussels, was held virtually this year.  The photo contest was also held virtually and we are pleased to share with you the winning photo, from Kazakhstan Customs. We also thought you’d be interested in your IFCBA colleagues’ country photos from their Customs administrations and have posted the most recent ones submitted to the WCO.  Most are from this year’s contest but if there was no 2020 entry, we included some from previous years.  Please click here to see photos.

My Loyal Friend
A Customs officer in uniform with his loyal friend ready to start his day despite the spread of COVID-19 all over the world. It is crucial for Customs to continue to ensure the safety of goods and to facilitate global trade while, at the same time, guaranteeing the protection of society, especially during this health crisis.
