At the same time, the IFCBA recognizes the world's customs brokers with International Customs Brokers Day.

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE IFCBA

On this International Customs Day and International Customs Brokers Day, we extend our warmest greetings to all customs professionals and brokers whose dedication drives global trade forward.

This year, we align with the World Customs Organization's (WCO) 2025 theme: "Customs Delivering on its Commitment to Efficiency, Security, and Prosperity." This theme underscores the pivotal role customs play in the development of economic growth, safeguarding borders, and enhancing trade efficiency.

Customs brokers, as indispensable partners in this journey, ensure compliance, streamline operations, and help businesses navigate the complexities of international trade. Together with the International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations (IFCBA), they represent a vital link in achieving the goals outlined by the WCO.

On this day, we celebrate the ongoing efforts of WCO Members in showcasing innovative practices and transformative strategies that deliver on their commitment to efficiency, security, and prosperity. The collaboration between customs authorities, brokers, and stakeholders worldwide is crucial to realizing a more secure and prosperous global trade environment.

Let us reaffirm our collective commitment to advancing the principles of efficiency, innovation, and partnership to support global trade and economic growth. Together, we can continue building a future defined by trust, compliance, and sustainable development.

Warm regards,

Shankar Shinde

Chairman, International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations (IFCBA)

This year will be one of those years, which will be recalled repeatedly. As the West Asia war is, for the moment, quiet, we are yet to see the Ukraine Russia war to end and the many war-like situations across the globe to calm down.

We are also seeing on the horizon an impending trade war to begin and the same will have ramifications  across the world with retaliation and this brings uncertainty as certain and the balanced approach which WTO has been struggling to maintain will now affect economies in different forms.

Customs brokers and forwarders will be on the first line of the hit list and will have tough times... There is no respite for these unsung heroes who have kept the sails of trade ever sailing.

Praying my fears will not be a reality. Cheers !!!!

Best Regards, Namaskara,
