IFCBA Launches International Customs Brokers Day

Congratulations to IFCBA members as we celebrate International Customs Brokers Day!

IFCBA has always been a supporter of International Customs Day, which is celebrated each January 26th  by the World Customs Organization in Brussels and its member customs administrations in all parts of the world. This year, we welcome the new Secretary General of the WCO, Mr. Ian Saunders, as he takes up his new position, and we recognize the enormous contribution of the former Secretary General, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya.

The theme of the WCO for this year is “Customs Engaging Traditional and New Partners with Purpose”. IFCBA is a long-standing partner of the WCO, contributing to common objectives through engagement in committees and working groups, and as a member of the Private Sector Consultative Group (PSCG). Many of our members play important leadership roles with customs administrations in their respective countries. The global community of customs brokers makes borders work better by managing data and processes to meet security requirements, contributing to compliance and trade facilitation, including the collection of revenue. We have always acted with purpose and look forward to the coming year.

This is the perfect time to recognize the contribution of customs brokers and IFCBA is celebrating the first International Customs Brokers Day on January 26th!  We hope you will use the recognition of this day, and the value of customs brokers in communications with your own Customs administrations and governments, your members, your partners, your clients and the public.
