Industrial goods group to resume discussions on tariffs

The following is excerpted from a 1 March 2012 news item from the World Trade Organization.

The Negotiating Group on Market Access for Non-Agricultural Products (NAMA) has accepted a proposal by the Chair, Ambassador Luzius Wasescha of Switzerland, to resume discussions on matters related to tariffs that in the last few years have been sidestepped in favour of an in-depth and less contentious discussion on non-tariff issues. The Chair proposed two meetings to discuss non-tariff barriers: one on 8 and 9 March and another on 12 March. The discussion to explore new initiatives on tariffs will be held on 14 March.
