Director-General Pascal Lamy, in a speech at the University of Addis Ababa on 11 May 2012, said that that “the domestic reforms necessary in WTO accession can provide a foundation and a tool to enhance a country’s competitiveness”. He added that “there is a high level of goodwill from members towards a rapid conclusion of Ethiopia’s accession”.
