Philippines: Logistics sector moving to create 7.5 million jobs

The logistics industry targets to generate 7.5 million jobs and employ at least 5 percent of the country’s labor force by 2022, as it intends to make its services more efficient compared to its Southeast Asian counterparts.

At the 1st Logistics Services Philippines Conference and Exhibition last week, logistics carriers vowed to be one of the prime movers of the country’s economy. In a document listing their commitments for the next years, the logistics industry said it will continue to create jobs and target to employ at least 5 percent of total work force by 2022.
