NPA advises importers, agents on trade facilitation

The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (‘NPA), Ms Hadiza Bala Usman and the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), Mr Hassan Bello, have urged importers and members of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) to embrace the trade facilitation programme of the Federal Government and partner its agencies to ensure quick clearance of goods at the ports and boost the revenue profile.

Philippines – Trade Net platform

The Department of Finance (DOF) said the TradeNet platform, which will enable the government to eliminate trade-data discrepancy, will be fully operational in December.

Based on the latest economic bulletin of the DOF, the implementation of the TradeNet online platform will help further reduce discrepancies related to the country’s imports and exports data.

WCO publishes new guides supporting the implementation of AEO programmes and MRAs

The WCO has published two key documents that will provide detailed guidance and further support for the implementation of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) programmes and their complementary Mutual Recognition Arrangements/Agreements (MRAs) in a more effective and harmonized manner globally: the Customs AEO Validator Guide and the MRA Strategy Guide.

New China Customs Declaration Required as of Aug. 1

Beginning Aug. 1 companies importing into China must file a new, single customs declaration that combines the requirements of the General Administration of Customs and China Inspection and Quarantine. However, there are already reports that confusion about the new declaration has resulted in shipment problems.
